Denver Broncos Training Camp 2010 started today (Wednesday) as only rookies, certain veterans, and players coming off injuries were required to report today. The rest of the team checks in on Sunday.

Fellows Broncos QB, #25 overall draft pick Tim Tebow, is still in contract negotiations, so the snaps were split between Kyle Orton and Brady.

Once all hands are on deck, we’re sure all eyes will continue to be focused on Denver QB competition. While it may get old for us Brady fans (having to go through yet another training camp QB battle), I’m sure it’s old hat for Brady. He has a great attitude and strong work ethic so we’re sure he’ll do just fine!

NFL Network has an exclusive interview w/ Brady after the first day of training camp. Click here to watch it.

As reported a couple of days ago, Brady Quinn and his best friend since 7th grade, Chinedum Ndukwe, visited children at the Memorial Children’s Hospital in South Bend, IN. They also made their appearance at the College Football Hall of Fame Gridiron Legends Luncheon.

This article from WSBT, really showcases just how good of friends they really are.

Former Notre Dame football players Brady Quinn & Chinedum Ndukwe share a laugh during Monday's College Football Hall of Fame Gridiron Legends Luncheon. (WSBT Photo)

About eight in every 10,000 high school football players make it to the NFL. Not only have Brady Quinn and Chinedum Ndukwe accomplished that, but they did it from the same high school, and forged a friendship in the process that is still going strong today.

During their time at Notre Dame, Quinn and Ndukwe were not just teammates, and not just roommates, but great friends.

Or, at least, friends.

“You know what kind of a friend he is? He’ll leave all his hair products in the bathroom when we were roommates,” Ndukwe said. “Just leave them all over, like the counter. Everywhere.”

“He’s got a lack of hair,” Quinn said. “So I don’t know what he’s going to do with any of that.”

Quinn and Ndukwe have been going back and forth like this since they were first teammates, in seventh grade. Last fall – 13 years later – they finally got to play against each other. Their recollections of that week 12 game are quite different.

Quinn had a rushing touchdown, but Ndukwe’s Bengals won the game. Either way, it was a great reunion.

“He’s my best friend.” Quinn said. “He’s one of those guys where if we don’t see each other for a long time, the next time we re-unite, it’s like time hasn’t passed. We just continue to keep on and have a good time together.”

“We’ve been through highs and lows together,” Ndukwe said. “He’s probably going to be the best man at my wedding. That’s probably like 10 years from now.”

And when that happens, Quinn will be there. Hair products and all.

*****

I am happy to report that one of our Brady Bunchers was in attendance yesterday at the Century Center in South Bend, IN.

So the day has come and gone and man did I have a blast! I was so so lucky to meet Brady, talk with him, have somethings signed by him.

We met in the upper part of the Century Center before the event took place. I sit very close for the ND home games and he remembered us from the games and we chatted about, the snow in Denver, and so on. He said he is really focused on this next year coming up, talked about his sister, Laura Hawk, being 4 months pregnant, and The Ndukwe Foundation.

During the event, it was about life at Notre Dame and giving back to the community as ND and his parents have taught him. He talked about how he and Chinedum became friends in 7th grade over a cheap shot that Chinedum threw on Brady during a game, and about how nice it was to have AJ Hawk to talk football with.

They asked Brady if his football career ended today what would he do, he responded by saying he would come back to ND, get a law degree, be a lawyer, and run a foundation as well. It was a great day for me.

For more pictures and recounts of this event, please become a member of Brady’s Bunch. Just click the word Brady’s Bunch, or this link here. Soon there after (usually within 24-36 hours) you will receive a confirmation email to reply to and then you are all set. The message board members are a friendly bunch, but boy are they protective of Brady. If you want to share about all things Brady Quinn, Notre Dame, and the Browns BRONCOS!, then that is the place for you.

The message board prides itself on no disparaging and derogatory remarks. It is not true that you cannot comment on Brady in a negative light – far from it – we are the first ones TO DO it, but we don’t nor see the need to bash and berate.

Feel free to browse the posts in the background, but we really encourage you to share your stories and opinions. Currently, we have had postings of several hundred Brady Quinn football cards, many photos, editorials revolving around Notre Dame, Denver Broncos, and football politics, personal anecdotes, and many other topics.

As Brady Quinn grows in strength, intelligence, and spiritual and corporeal maturity in his own and professional life, we will grow too.

SOUTH BEND — Former Notre Dame Football standouts Brady Quinn and Chinedum Ndukwe plan to visit Memorial Children’s Hospital Monday afternoon, according to a release from the hospital.

The two will visit Memorial’s pediatric and pediatric intensive care units, as well as patients in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program.

The two have a longstanding friendship that dates back to the seventh grade when they began playing football together for the first time. They went on to play together until 2007 when they were selected by different teams in the NFL draft.

Quinn is currently a quarterback for the Denver Broncos and Ndukwe is a safety for the Cincinnati Broncos.

Quinn and Ndukwe will arrive at the hospital at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

This is very representative of Brady and Chinedum’s work in giving back to the community; something instilled in their DNA, brought to the surface by their faith and university. Undoubtedly, the two are together for the College Football Hall of Fame’s Gridiron Legends Luncheon Series on June 21st.

It’s like that bad habit that you just can’t shake, no matter how hard you try. No matter where he goes, in the NFL, Brady Quinn can’t get away from trade rumors.

We probably thought the whispers and speculation would die down a little bit once he got to Denver. But I don’t really consider 6 weeks of silence a long enough break from the rumor mill, but that’s how long we’ve really been rumor-free around here.

That came to a crashing halt today with word out of Denver FOX affiliate that the Jacksonville Jaguars were interested in acquiring Brady via trade. “Here we go again”, I though.

But the Broncos pulled a Lee Corso and said, “not so fast, my friend!”, offering the following statement to FOX 31 reporter Josina Anderson:

“we have no interest in letting go of Quinn.”

Also, see this report from ProFootballTalk.

Feel better yet?

Brady Quinn fans can breathe a little easier…for now. I’m sure the rumors will return soon enough. They always do! Buckle up!

Mike Lombardi is spilling the inside scoop on Brady’s impact, thus far, with the Broncos. In a recent National Football Post article he states the following:

Speaking of Broncos quarterbacks, everyone in the organization has been impressed with the work of former Brown Brady Quinn. Quinn has slowed down his movements and, according to the team’s coaches, has improved his accuracy. They’re excited to watch him work, and Denver will have a legitimate competition at quarterback this summer.

It’s safe to say all eyes will be on the Broncos QB stable this summer. We Brady fans are quite used to QB competitions, but hopefully this one has different results than those other ones…

Poof.

So, please take the time to re-register at Brady’s Bunch. If Brady can keep going, we can too.

Currently, we have had postings of several hundred Brady Quinn football cards, several thousand photos, editorials revolving around Notre Dame, Cleveland Browns, and football politics, personal anecdotes, and many other topics.

CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Browns have traded quarterback Brady Quinn to the Denver Broncos for fullback Peyton Hillis and a 2011 draft pick.

The teams announced the trade Sunday and said the deal is pending physicals.

Quinn’s departure comes one day after the Browns agreed to terms with free agent Jake Delhomme on a two-year contract.

EXPECT MAJOR CHANGES AROUND HERE TOO! Stay Tuned!!

Take away the crap Brown color and add Blue. I can live with that! And maybe South Park will have an episode! (Be nice guys!)

Hillis, two picks acquired for Quinn

From Cleveland Browns Official Site. This may be the last time I ever go there.
03.14.2010

The Cleveland Browns acquired running back Peyton Hillis and two future undisclosed draft choices in exchange for quarterback Brady Quinn, the team announced on Sunday.

“I appreciate everything Brady did for us last year and in his three seasons with the Cleveland Browns,” said Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini. “He is professional in the way he goes about doing his job and worked extremely hard at every aspect of his game. I wish him the best of success in Denver.”

The 24-year-old Hillis is a veteran of two NFL seasons who was a seventh-round draft choice of Denver in 2008. He played in 28 games with eight starts in his two years with the Broncos and totaled 397 yards rushing and six touchdowns on 81 attempts (4.9 avg.) and caught 18 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. As a rookie in 2008, he started six of the 12 games in which he appeared and rushed for 343 yards and five scores on 68 carries (5.0 avg.) and amassed 14 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown. His rushing total as a rookie included a 129-yard effort at the Jets on November 30 when he carried the ball 22 times and scored a touchdown in Denver’s 34-17 victory.

The 6-2, 250-pound Hillis lettered four years at the University of Arkansas (2004-07) and rushed for 959 yards and 12 touchdowns on 203 attempts and caught 118 passes for 1,195 yards and 11 scores. Born January 21, 1986, Hillis attended Conway (Ark.) High School.

So Brady is going to Denver… that doesn’t mean we are going anywhere. Sure, a few cosmetic changes will be forth coming, but in the mean time check out Brady’s Bunch.
