Brady Quinn Reports For First Broncos Training Camp

Denver Broncos Training Camp 2010 started today (Wednesday) as only rookies, certain veterans, and players coming off injuries were required to report today. The rest of the team checks in on Sunday.
Fellows Broncos QB, #25 overall draft pick Tim Tebow, is still in contract negotiations, so the snaps were split between Kyle Orton and Brady.
Once all hands are on deck, we’re sure all eyes will continue to be focused on Denver QB competition. While it may get old for us Brady fans (having to go through yet another training camp QB battle), I’m sure it’s old hat for Brady. He has a great attitude and strong work ethic so we’re sure he’ll do just fine!
NFL Network has an exclusive interview w/ Brady after the first day of training camp. Click here to watch it.

Brady Quinn & Chinedum Ndukwe Reminisce at College Football Hall of Fame
As reported a couple of days ago, Brady Quinn and his best friend since 7th grade, Chinedum Ndukwe, visited children at the Memorial Children’s Hospital in South Bend, IN. They also made their appearance at the College Football Hall of Fame Gridiron Legends Luncheon.
This article from WSBT, really showcases just how good of friends they really are.

About eight in every 10,000 high school football players make it to the NFL. Not only have Brady Quinn and Chinedum Ndukwe accomplished that, but they did it from the same high school, and forged a friendship in the process that is still going strong today.
During their time at Notre Dame, Quinn and Ndukwe were not just teammates, and not just roommates, but great friends.
Or, at least, friends.
“You know what kind of a friend he is? He’ll leave all his hair products in the bathroom when we were roommates,” Ndukwe said. “Just leave them all over, like the counter. Everywhere.”
“He’s got a lack of hair,” Quinn said. “So I don’t know what he’s going to do with any of that.”
Quinn and Ndukwe have been going back and forth like this since they were first teammates, in seventh grade. Last fall – 13 years later – they finally got to play against each other. Their recollections of that week 12 game are quite different.
Quinn had a rushing touchdown, but Ndukwe’s Bengals won the game. Either way, it was a great reunion.
“He’s my best friend.” Quinn said. “He’s one of those guys where if we don’t see each other for a long time, the next time we re-unite, it’s like time hasn’t passed. We just continue to keep on and have a good time together.”
“We’ve been through highs and lows together,” Ndukwe said. “He’s probably going to be the best man at my wedding. That’s probably like 10 years from now.”
And when that happens, Quinn will be there. Hair products and all.

I am happy to report that one of our Brady Bunchers was in attendance yesterday at the Century Center in South Bend, IN.
So the day has come and gone and man did I have a blast! I was so so lucky to meet Brady, talk with him, have somethings signed by him.
We met in the upper part of the Century Center before the event took place. I sit very close for the ND home games and he remembered us from the games and we chatted about, the snow in Denver, and so on. He said he is really focused on this next year coming up, talked about his sister, Laura Hawk, being 4 months pregnant, and The Ndukwe Foundation.
During the event, it was about life at Notre Dame and giving back to the community as ND and his parents have taught him. He talked about how he and Chinedum became friends in 7th grade over a cheap shot that Chinedum threw on Brady during a game, and about how nice it was to have AJ Hawk to talk football with.
They asked Brady if his football career ended today what would he do, he responded by saying he would come back to ND, get a law degree, be a lawyer, and run a foundation as well. It was a great day for me.
For more pictures and recounts of this event, please become a member of Brady’s Bunch. Just click the word Brady’s Bunch, or this link here. Soon there after (usually within 24-36 hours) you will receive a confirmation email to reply to and then you are all set. The message board members are a friendly bunch, but boy are they protective of Brady. If you want to share about all things Brady Quinn, Notre Dame, and the Browns BRONCOS!, then that is the place for you.
The message board prides itself on no disparaging and derogatory remarks. It is not true that you cannot comment on Brady in a negative light – far from it – we are the first ones TO DO it, but we don’t nor see the need to bash and berate.
Feel free to browse the posts in the background, but we really encourage you to share your stories and opinions. Currently, we have had postings of several hundred Brady Quinn football cards, many photos, editorials revolving around Notre Dame, Denver Broncos, and football politics, personal anecdotes, and many other topics.
As Brady Quinn grows in strength, intelligence, and spiritual and corporeal maturity in his own and professional life, we will grow too.

B. Quinn and C. Ndukwe to Visit Memorial Children’s Hospital
SOUTH BEND — Former Notre Dame Football standouts Brady Quinn and Chinedum Ndukwe plan to visit Memorial Children’s Hospital Monday afternoon, according to a release from the hospital.
The two will visit Memorial’s pediatric and pediatric intensive care units, as well as patients in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program.
The two have a longstanding friendship that dates back to the seventh grade when they began playing football together for the first time. They went on to play together until 2007 when they were selected by different teams in the NFL draft.
Quinn is currently a quarterback for the Denver Broncos and Ndukwe is a safety for the Cincinnati Broncos.
Quinn and Ndukwe will arrive at the hospital at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
This is very representative of Brady and Chinedum’s work in giving back to the community; something instilled in their DNA, brought to the surface by their faith and university. Undoubtedly, the two are together for the College Football Hall of Fame’s Gridiron Legends Luncheon Series on June 21st.
The College Football Hall of Fame announced today that former Notre Dame standouts Brady Quinn and Chinedum Ndukwe will co-headline the next KeyBank Gridiron Legends Luncheon in the 2010 series on Monday, June 21, 2010. The event will provide football fans throughout the community a rare opportunity to hear both remarkable athletes reflect upon their collegiate experience as well as their transition into the National Football League.
Luncheons consist of a question and answer session with the featured speaker, a video presentation and lunch. Questions will also be taken from audience members. Tickets for individual luncheons are $35 per person or $270 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased at the Hall of Fame ticket counter or by calling 574-235-5717. Quinn and Ndukwe Together Again
“Best friends and former Irish teammates Brady Quinn and Chendum Ndukwe will be the guest speakers at the College Football Hall of Fame’s Gridiron Legends Luncheon Series on June 30th.
No–it won’t be to play football but to speak at the College Football Hall of Fame’s Gridiron Legends Luncheon Series.
The former high school and Irish teammates will take center stage on June 30th. Brady and Nedu were roommates while at Notre Dame and led the Irish to consecutive BCS appearances in 2005 and 2006.
After three seasons with the Cleveland Browns, Quinn is now with the Denver Broncos where he hopes to compete for the starting job along with Purdue grad Kyle Orton.
Ndukwe will enter his 4th season with the Bengals, where he’s the team’s starting safety.
NewsCenter 16 Sports Director Jeff Jeffers will serve as the host of the event.”

Brady Quinn Back in Ohio Today
Brady Quinn has made his way back to his home state, and no one should be surprised that the reason is charitable.
Brady’s friend (and former high school & college teammate), Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe, is hosting a Youth Wellness Camp for Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area youth, and Brady is in town to lend his support, as well as a helping hand.
Over 200 children from non-profit organizations in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati will join Ndukwe and other members of the Cincinnati Bengals for a day of fitness and fun. The focus of the event is to educate children on healthy living by integrating physical activity, practical nutrition habits, and the importance of education.
The camp takes place TODAY at the Mercy HealthPlex in Western Hills. Visit the Ndukwe Foundation website for more information.
Trade Rumors Continue to Follow Brady Quinn
It’s like that bad habit that you just can’t shake, no matter how hard you try. No matter where he goes, in the NFL, Brady Quinn can’t get away from trade rumors.
We probably thought the whispers and speculation would die down a little bit once he got to Denver. But I don’t really consider 6 weeks of silence a long enough break from the rumor mill, but that’s how long we’ve really been rumor-free around here.
That came to a crashing halt today with word out of Denver FOX affiliate that the Jacksonville Jaguars were interested in acquiring Brady via trade. “Here we go again”, I though.
But the Broncos pulled a Lee Corso and said, “not so fast, my friend!”, offering the following statement to FOX 31 reporter Josina Anderson:
“we have no interest in letting go of Quinn.”
Also, see this report from ProFootballTalk.
Feel better yet?
Brady Quinn fans can breathe a little easier…for now. I’m sure the rumors will return soon enough. They always do! Buckle up!
Brady Quinn Impressive in Denver
![]()
Mike Lombardi is spilling the inside scoop on Brady’s impact, thus far, with the Broncos. In a recent National Football Post article he states the following:
Speaking of Broncos quarterbacks, everyone in the organization has been impressed with the work of former Brown Brady Quinn. Quinn has slowed down his movements and, according to the team’s coaches, has improved his accuracy. They’re excited to watch him work, and Denver will have a legitimate competition at quarterback this summer.
It’s safe to say all eyes will be on the Broncos QB stable this summer. We Brady fans are quite used to QB competitions, but hopefully this one has different results than those other ones…
A ‘One in a Million’ crash…
Those are the odds of our web host company having a devasting crash that has affected thousands of sites. Gratefully, information from this site has mostly been salvaged, but those of the message boards and all of its members from February, have turned into cyber-vapor.
Poof.
But like Brady getting the news he was not starter, or getting benched, or injured, or traded to Denver… we shall persevere.
So, please take the time to re-register at Brady’s Bunch. If Brady can keep going, we can too.

BRADY QUINN IS A BUCKING DENVER BRONCO
Browns trade QB Brady Quinn
CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Browns have traded quarterback Brady Quinn to the Denver Broncos for fullback Peyton Hillis and a 2011 draft pick.
The teams announced the trade Sunday and said the deal is pending physicals.
Quinn’s departure comes one day after the Browns agreed to terms with free agent Jake Delhomme on a two-year contract.
EXPECT MAJOR CHANGES AROUND HERE TOO! Stay Tuned!!
Take away the crap Brown color and add Blue. I can live with that! And maybe South Park will have an episode! (Be nice guys!)
Hillis, two picks acquired for Quinn
From Cleveland Browns Official Site. This may be the last time I ever go there.
03.14.2010
The Cleveland Browns acquired running back Peyton Hillis and two future undisclosed draft choices in exchange for quarterback Brady Quinn, the team announced on Sunday.
“I appreciate everything Brady did for us last year and in his three seasons with the Cleveland Browns,” said Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini. “He is professional in the way he goes about doing his job and worked extremely hard at every aspect of his game. I wish him the best of success in Denver.”
The 24-year-old Hillis is a veteran of two NFL seasons who was a seventh-round draft choice of Denver in 2008. He played in 28 games with eight starts in his two years with the Broncos and totaled 397 yards rushing and six touchdowns on 81 attempts (4.9 avg.) and caught 18 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. As a rookie in 2008, he started six of the 12 games in which he appeared and rushed for 343 yards and five scores on 68 carries (5.0 avg.) and amassed 14 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown. His rushing total as a rookie included a 129-yard effort at the Jets on November 30 when he carried the ball 22 times and scored a touchdown in Denver’s 34-17 victory.
The 6-2, 250-pound Hillis lettered four years at the University of Arkansas (2004-07) and rushed for 959 yards and 12 touchdowns on 203 attempts and caught 118 passes for 1,195 yards and 11 scores. Born January 21, 1986, Hillis attended Conway (Ark.) High School.
So Brady is going to Denver… that doesn’t mean we are going anywhere. Sure, a few cosmetic changes will be forth coming, but in the mean time check out Brady’s Bunch.

We Bid Thee Adieu Derek Anderson
That didn’t take long.
When I spoke to Brady and told him that we were all behind him and that he had to kick Derek’s ass to be the starter, he laughed and looked over at his manager. It was a polite laugh nothing to it. As I look back at the pictures, the look he gave his manager was more like, “Don’t I know it.” His manager laughed as well. Brady’s the gravy train after all.
But I know Brady better now. We know he has no animosity towards Derek. They were friends in Cleveland; better competitors, good teammates. Brady has nothing but the best of intentions and wishes for Derek. We also know Brady has drive. He has ambition, and this is very good news.
Mr. Quinn may not admit it, but he must be experiencing schadenfreude, a German word which roughly translates to “shameful joy”. It means the joy we sometimes cannot help but experience when we hear about another’s misfortune. Scratch that. We here at www.brady-quinn.org DEFINITELY are.
As I mature, and take the criticisms of bashing Derek unnecessarily to heart, I do want to thank him for what he did in 2007. It was lucky for us that we followed Brady to Cleveland from Notre Dame. He did not get to start, but it was still with a successful team thanks, in part, to Derek. Lots of face time for the Quinn-man. And, of course, this led to lots of prime-time viewing as ESPN and other affiliates picked up and broadcasted the Browns. Who would have thunk it?
Derek’s leaving is not a time for celebrating. It is a clarion call that there is a new czar in town and he’s got a plan. It is a time to get back to work. Brady is part of that plan, and this opportunity will not go by the wayside. He is a most determined, sincere man with a work ethic scarcely unparalleled in such a fierce competitive sport. For those of you who want the Browns to do well; there is change coming that you CAN believe in.
No more pics of Derek on his tookus, or gravestones with his name on it. No more kicking the tv, or yelling at my co-workers poking fun at the Browns. No more rants on the Brady Quinn message board or waiting in line to fill my Xanax prescription before and after games. There is optimism in the air and it is not all about Brady. I like what Holmgren is doing. From someone who doesn’t over-analyze every football move and motive (or understand them), I see that there is an intelligent design in Cleveland; and it’s got HOPE written all over it. Those Browns fans better than I call it BELIEVELAND.

Seneca Wallace: a Threat to Brady Quinn?
No. He is not. He is a treat. The trick will be getting rid of Derek and putting fate back into Quinn’s hands.
Honestly, I have never heard of Seneca Wallace. I thought it was a new variety of apple or something. I did some quick looking up (very quick) and went back to bed. I’m not worried about him at all. In fact I am overjoyed. It all but puts the last nail in Derek Anderson’s Cleveland Coffin.
Unlike some reports that Seneca some how threatens Brady’s position with the Browns, I try to maintain a straight face when I think of Derek Anderson leaving the Browns. Hey. Do YOU have an extra 2 MILLION DOLLARS to keep Derek Anderson around? And if you do, what the hell is wrong with you?
Don’t you remember Derek being booed off the field on more than one occasion? Sure it is in pretty poor taste to boo anyone at their job no matter how poorly they perform, but Derek also has no star power, and that IS Derek’s fault. He had ample opportunity to show us his leadership, and buddy, that ship has now sailed. (I also have not forgotten the grumblings and unhappiness in the stadium when Brady was at his lowest.)
Now, I AM NOT just a proponent for Brady. This is good. I feel competition brings out the best of us and Brady needs the heat turned up under his sore foot to really bring it together. He would agree with this. He has one more year to really show us what he has got. And if you are one of those pooh-poohers of Brady saying he HAD enough time, that is BS. Playing just six consecutive games doesn’t show you anything substantial. Hints and suggestions maybe, but not career ending-wise. ESPECIALLY under such foolish administration the Browns have had to suffer in.
Of course, I find that Brady has to piecemeal his entire cadre of catchers again and that cannot be easy. Check out the football card that shows Brady and his star catchers. They are all gone now. Braylon was traded (thank-you) and Jamal retired (too bad). Now get me a card with Mohamed Massaquoi and Evan Moore; THERE are two weapons Quinn’s got in his arsenal. … … As long as he can stay healthy and focused to develop them, AND given the time and opportunity. If not… RELEASE BRADY to some other grateful franchise.
This Seneca, THE SHORTEST ACTIVE QB IN THE NFL is 5 feet 11 inches. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have heard how great it is to have a tall QB looking over the helmets and passing over the heads of the opposition. I’m taller than Brady and a 5′11” person standing next to me makes them look tiny. (Now imagine Brady’s girlfriend standing next to him at 5 feet 1 inch. Now THAT is a cute picture!) And as I was just informed, that Seneca was fighting good ol’ Charlie Frye for the Seattle backup spot after the Browns traded him. That tells me that Holmgren is finally fixing the team up. It is such a strange sensation seeing some rational decisions being made in Cleveland.
Seriously though. Click on this link to see the list of all the apple varieties. Funny how there ISN’T a Seneca Wallace, but there is an Anderson Jonathan.
Wonder if that apple tastes bitter?
Brady Quinn is Hooraying for Fish
The National Education Association’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. It’s going on in my school and was an inspiration for this post.
In cities and towns across the nation, teachers, teenagers, librarians, politicians, actors, athletes, parents, grandparents, and others develop NEA’s Read Across America activities to bring reading excitement to children of all ages. Governors, mayors, and other elected officials recognize the role reading plays in their communities with proclamations and floor statements. Athletes and actors issue reading challenges to young readers.
National Library Week (April 13 – April 19) is another time many libraries and organizations help celebrate the love of reading. One literacy program from The Cleveland Browns with collaboration from the Public Library of Cuyahoga County was Read with the Browns. From 2007 – 2009 several Browns players sat down and were recorded reading a favorite children’s book. Sadly, I fear this program is over as an ominous “Read with the Browns has concluded” appears on the library’s archival page. I am hopeful that it will resume once the Browns get their franchise up and running in the right direction.
Still, the player’s recitation of their favorite books lives on.
Seems they teach more than just football at Notre Dame. Brady Quinn has read two books for the library. In 2007 he read Chica Chica Boom Boom and in 2008 he read Hooray For Fish! I’m sure the books are entertaining for the kids, but watching these men read them aloud is hilarious. Good thing you stuck with finance and political science, Brady.
To watch Brady Quinn’s telling of Hooray For Fish!, send your browser here.
Finally, if you are reading this, thank a teacher, and give me back that Filet-O-Fish. Give me that fish.
Brady Quinn Raises Funds For Haiti

Brady Quinn Rookie Cards
The first true Brady Quinn rookie cards came out after the rookie premiere May 19, 2007. The rookie premiere is put on by Reebok and is presented by EA Sports. It is held each year in May in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. This is a mandatory event for many of the NFL’s top rookies. Not going can cause quite a bit of trouble. Some players skipped the 07 premiere to attend their mini-camps. It’s pretty bad when coaches don’t know their newly acquired players must attend this event per contract and they make the camp schedules conflict. Tony Dungy being one of them. The 2007 event wrapped up Sunday, May 20th after 32 top 2007 rookies gathered for four days of photo shoots, autograph signings and media sessions. This was the time they had their avatars made for the popular Madden football video games as well.

LOS ANGELES, CA - MAY 19: Brady Quinn #10 of the Cleveland Browns performs a diving pass for a photographer at the 2007 NFL Players Rookie Premiere on May 19, 2007 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.
A lot of work goes on at this event. All the major card companies (Topps, Donruss, and Upper Deck, etc.) as well as Beckett Publications and major sportswear and equipment suppliers get the rookies to work. From signing hundreds of cards to million dollar contracts, this event sets the stage for buyers and sellers alike while all of it is covered by the media.
Adrian Peterson said he was honored that he was voted the top rookie to collect by the fans of Beckett Football. Investing in rookie cards is a gamble, but I am glad that collectors of Peterson is bound to pay off. But as for Brady….
Depending on how you look at it, collecting rookie cards is give and take; it can pay off immediately (like Peterson) or it may take awhile. Right now Brady’s rookie cards really are not worth much, but serious investors still caution about putting him at the bottom of the ‘washed up’ pile. I am still holding out for Brady to show his mettle; whether that be with the Browns (if they can get their organization straightened out) or with another team that has the arsenal Brady needs to deliver.
Each card company has their rookie card and, depending upon the popularity of the company itself, each comes with a different degree of desirability. Below is the front of Donruss’s Score 2007 rookie card (#371) of Brady Quinn. It was one of the first to come out followed soon by Topps and Upper Deck.
Looking at the back of the Score card I feel a little glum.
“The question isn’t whether Quinn will start for Cleveland, it’s when will he take the reigns? Once he does, barring injury, he’s expected to remain behind center for many years.”
Seems a little prophetic doesn’t it?
Still the companies would have no idea of Brady’s mismanagement with the Browns and that, to date, he has only started six consecutive games. They also don’t know they’ve used the wrong “reigns”.![]()
