We’re With You Brady Quinn!
“Disappointed.” That’s what Brady Quinn said when Derek Anderson was named starter for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
“Disgusted.” That’s what fans of Brady Quinn are saying.
I’ve never flaunted to people that I know football. I can’t hold my own at the water cooler, and I only know some of the basics of the game. I have referenced NFL.com’s Beginner Guide to Football and questioned more knowledgeable people on the Brady Quinn Message Board about penalities and such. I also have never wavered from my conviction that I am a Brady Quinn fan first and foremost. This does not mean I am not a Browns fan which is a very close second. But Little Peggy March’s song, “I Will Follow Him,” is my mantra when it comes to Brady.
I’ll leave the stats, reasonings, rationale, logic, and interpretation to those experts on other websites and other couches on Sunday. That’s not me. I look at the ‘human factor’ of things. For instance:
- Why would the head coach of the Browns have such a prolonged quarterback competition during the summer only to change his mind so quickly and for someone who, apples to apples, isn’t much better?
- How would it feel to be promoted or elevated to a better position only to have it taken away from you (without warning) in less than a month?
- What is it like to work your ass off, devote your life to your craft, and not feel too appreciated? [some of us know this feeling...]
- Why would someone go back on their own pledge of staying with the quarterback they pick after only two and a half games?
- When a floundering team desperately needs a leader, why would the powers that be not choose more wisely?
- How would it feel to potentially lose millions of dollars even if you say it is not about the money?
- How can someone keep such faith and glass half-full attitude when jerked around on and off the bench?
That last one I can answer. You’re Brady Quinn.
We here at Brady Quinn Fan will also keep the faith. The truly loyal wish him very well and want him to continue to support his team. We’ll still call him out when things don’t quite go our way, and it may not always be with Cleveland, but as Peggy March says, “We will follow him.”

Chat w/ other Brady Fans!
Poor Brady. I really like to think that he comes and reads these posts on the same for the boards. If he did, he might just crack a smile, and maybe feel all warm inside.
We’ll always be behind him – and hopefully on Sunday, when DA epically fails, Mangini will see how much of a complete idiot he is and put our man back in the place he belongs: Starting QB.
We love you, Brady!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!! <33
When I saw this news today on ESPN, I was sick!
Mangini is a liar and a coward. Most of the ESPN NFL analysts have highly criticized this move, particularly former 49ers QB Steve Young. He said a defensive coach like Mangini doesn’t understand quarterbacks. Two and a half games are just not enough to judge the impact a new QB will make!
When I watched the interview with Brady, I really started to fill up. What character he has shown throughout this entire debacle! I hope that some other decent coach will see what kind of man and leader Brady truly is and will give him another chance. I’ve given up on Cleveland. The poor guy has only started SIX games and was pulled from TWO of them. How do they really know what he can do???
Troy Aikman went 1-15 with the Dallas Cowboys and nobody ever benched him!
I think the problem is that because he was so highly touted coming out of college, too much has been expected of him. The same thing happened to Matt Leinart and Vince Young. (not that either of them are remotely in the same category as Brady!)
I’m finished ranting now. Brady will get his chance someday and I’ll be the first one to say, “I told you so!”
It isn’t fair how Coach Mangini chose da to be the starter for the Browns-Bengals game–da will never be as talented or hardworking as our Brady.
This is an excellent post. We are definitely behind Brady 100%: we love our Brady! We are always going to support him.
I thought long and hard about my response to this before posting, but what better place to let it all out than here amongst the lovers and haters alike?
When Brady Quinn entered the 2007 NFL Draft, I know I was prepared to follow him to any team willing to put their future in his hands. Not just Cleveland, but Oakland, Minnesota, Detroit, and Miami were possibilities. I would don the colors, buy the jerseys, and try my hardest to watch team games to catch a glimpse of him in action. I have been a football fan since I was old enough to comprehend the mechanics of the sport, and yes, I don the XX chromosomes. I know what it’s like to watch a team suffer loss after loss. It has raised my blood pressure and taken years off my lifespan, but I remain loyal if I have something to believe in. For the Browns, that’s Brady Quinn.
The losses in Cleveland are filled with uncertainty and frustration, yes, but if it’s Brady’s choice to remain there, I will dutifully support Believeland and wear my brown and orange with pride. However, if Brady desires greener pastures for a brighter future, then so be it. I also make no qualms about being a fan of Brady Quinn first and the Cleveland Browns second. It’s up to him; the choice of where feels the need to be. If it is not Cleveland, then I say their loss, wish them the best, but follow Brady.
I was a Browns fan before I ever saw Brady…but once I did I knew I would not only follow Cleveland, but follow him as well. I do hope that he stays with Cleveland…that we get a new coach and that that new coach sees Brady is young and every snap is a learning experience. That way, Brady not only gets his wish to start for the Browns, but I can see my two football loves together as one.
If Brady were to go to another team – by choice or being traded – I would be greatly saddened…but I would still wear his Browns jersey, and support him more then the other team. You’re post kind of reminded me that I vowed that in ’07. =]
Brady is a great player still trying to make his transition, and for Mangidiot to take him out after 10 quaters of his first lessons was just….wrong. Sick adn wrong. That’s like failing a child in school after just 10 worksheets of C’s or D’s. He’s learning, and you need to touch on what he’s not getting. It’s like quitting after learning how to skii for ten minutes! If you neevr try, you never know.
I love the Browns and I love Brady…I’m hurt by Mangidiot’s choice…really hurt. I’m arguing with my dad about it all the time, but that’s all we can do right now. Put our voices out there for Brady.
I think I’m done now…lol
@MissBlitz -
I really hope and pray that Coach Mangini will decide to rename our Brady as the starter; Brady is the Franchise Quarterback for the Browns, not da.
I agree, iHeartBradyQuinn: we all are going to put our voices out there for Brady. We will always follow him.
I as well was a Brady Quinn fan first and foremost, so when he entered the NFL draft I was going to follow him wherever he went. Brady Quinn is an outstanding quarterback however the problem
at Cleveland is no only Mangidiot buy also the fact they have no receivers that are worth 2 cents, unfortunately that is bad news for Brady Quinn unless he leaves Cleveland. Bur no quarterback is going to do well at Cleveland until we get some receivers who can catch a pass.
It’s great to see some new faces coming on out and shouting that Brady is more than just sideline fodder.
I hope his mom who goes on the internet reads these. (Then again, there may be some I hope she takes with a grain of salt…. for a margarita.)
