Browns May Minicamp Round-Up

Since news has slowed to a crawl — which I am completely ok with — I figured we’d get a couple of nuggets coming out of Browns minicamp, which ended today. And did we ever!

I already tweeted about Mangini saying that Brady has a slight edge thus far in “QB Competition 2009″. And yes, it is early, but we Brady fans should be all about any positive news we can get our hands on. And this, make no mistake, is good news! If you aren’t following me on Twitter (shame on you!), you can do so here.

Here’s the CliffsNotes version of the Mangini news:

“Brady will get the first reps today. He started with the first reps on Wednesday, and that’s because he’s done a really outstanding job in the offseason program. Not that Derek hasn’t done well, but [Quinn] gets the first reps.”

And if that wasn’t enough, then came new video of Brady talking to the media.

Also, pictures from minicamp is available from the official site.

Note: Yes, I am choosing to ignore the rest of the team for right now. I know there is Josh Cribbs drama, but there are quite a few fine Browns blogs you can visit for those updates.

Loving this BQ quote on why he never asked Mangini what his status was amidst all the trade rumors:

“I never really came to that point because it doesn’t matter to me. I knew God’s got a plan for me and however it’s going to work out, it’s going to work out. The only thing I can control is how I perform, what I do each day. So my approach was going in, busting my butt, lead the guys the best I can and be the best teammate and player for this organization as I can.”

So excited to see this news about our boy! It’s so obvious that he has been working his butt off while da is out playing golf and obviously doing nothing to improve his public speaking skills. Brady’s work ethic and attitude will finally pay off for him this season. I can’t wait!!!

Also, love the haircut! skin looks clear so his stress level must be low, and is he trying to grow some facial hair??? I thought I heard him make a side comment to one of the reporters about that.

That is wonderful how Brady has an edge over da in the “QB Competition 2009″. I knew that Brady would do well at the voluntary minicamp workouts. Our Brady is the Franchise Quarterback for the Browns. He is hardworking, conscientious, and optimistic. Also, I admire Brady’s faith.

Go Brady! He is the best!

And the Brady news fan starts to rev up!

    1) I’m thanking God’s plan to have Brady’s hair cut.
    2) Nice to see nothing has changed with Brady and his ethics (although it is always the same old same old)
    3) This Mangini guy always seems to choose his words carefully, so news about getting an edge as starting QB is great!
    4) This is a Brady Quinn site. I agree with admin that other players, dramas, etc. should be discussed or read about elsewheres or click on a side link; unless they directly relate to Brady. The Browns Forum on the Brady Quinn message board is also a good choice.
    5) My job is almost done then 3 months off! New fun posts coming…

AHhh… thanks for the vitamin BQ injection! I feel so much better!

  7. magdolina12 Says:

I am ready for football season, too!
Go Brady & the Browns!

  8. admin Says:

I anxiously await your “new fun posts”, John!

I am also looking forward to your new fun posts, John!

I love this quote from practice yesterday…

“Quinn ran a punishment lap after he didn’t get a play off in time.”

That’s the way to work him Mangini. Damn, I wish I had that power!

  11. magdolina12 Says:

I hope that Brady didn’t have to run a long punishment lap.
