Let’s Talk NFL Draft, Shall We?

So, the day is upon us. As a huge football fan, I usually enjoy the NFL draft. I sit in front of the TV and watch as much of it as possible. I like seeing where all the college stars goes and fan reaction to the selections.
There’s a different feeling in the air this time, and I’m pretty sure we all know why!
ESPN Coverage begins at 11, but the draft doesn’t get underway until 4PM. I’ll be at my favorite college team’s Spring Game, where I’ll be nice and distracted from all of the draft frenzy!
Rounds 1-2 will be selected today and 3-7 tomorrow. Here’s how it’ll go down: Teams have 10 minutes to pick in the first round, seven in the second and five in Rounds 3-7 (starting at 10AM Sunday).
And if the Brady Quinn Fan WordPress theme ends up needing to be changed, that will be done ASAP. I’m just glad this stage of the drama and stress will all be over after this weekend. Then on to other stressful matters? Probably! It never ends!
And if this particular post needs to be edited/updated, and I’m not around, John have at it! You’re in charge, buddy! I’m not sure when I’ll be back behind a computer/in front of a TV.
Talk amongst yourselves…again!

Chat w/ other Brady Fans!
Now that there is a new day, there’s talk about how Brady is NOT on the trading block.
Fine. I win either way!
I’ve been up since 6:30 AM. My skimming of blogs and updates have only shown me all the news of the Detroit Lions signing Matt Stafford as the #1 draft pick. So much for the element of surprise. A well, at least Detroit seems to know the direction it will be going in!
It’s an absolutely gorgeous day here in the Northeast, so I am going to try to enjoy it by attending the Giants Draft Day Party this afternoon and then turn on NFL Network for the draft. I’m keeping my head up for Brady and all us Brady fans! Try to have a nice day everyone.
It sounds like Brady will not be traded; I have a feeling that this is true. I hope and pray that it will be true. Also, I hope that Braylon isn’t going to be traded.
Congratulations to Matt Stafford on being the #1 draft pick; I know that he will do well with the Lions.
The Giants Draft Day Party sounds nice!
I’m still paranoid, but all appears quiet on the Brady front right now.
As an Ohio State Buckeye fan, words can’t express how happy I am that Brady may be throwing to Buckeye Brian Robiskie.
Even though I had no idea what would happen with the draft, I like the work the Browns did today. All that trading down was a nice tactic to get more picks, while allowing other teams to select their QB of the future. Oh, the irony!
I won’t stop holding my breath for another few days or so. But for right now, things look good.
BOY I GOT A FRIGHT!!
I couldn’t sleep because it was too warm in my apartment and I had a little indigestion. You get that from a dinner consisting of Entenmann’s Pop Ems, chocolate milk, and a hunk of Colby Jack cheese. Ah… a bachelor’s diet.
Anyway, I was up late and wanted to check my email. I have it set to skim headlines and report immediately anything Brady related. Through squinty eyes adjusting to a bright monitor in a dark room I read this:
BRONCOS GET QUINN
Jumping Mary Johasaphat! Where did that come from. (Heart skipped a beat and stomach did a serious backflip.)
Well, here was the entire headline: BRONCOS GET A QUINN; JUST NOT THE BROWNS’ QUINN
Lesson? Don’t have Entenmann’s Pop Ems, chocolate milk, and a hunk of Colby Jack cheese before bed. It tastes better going down the first time.
I am so relieved that it looks like the Browns aren’t going to trade Brady and Braylon; I feel much better now.
I was really worried about the Browns trading Brady and Braylon.
I am happy that the Browns drafted Brian Robiskie; he will do well with the team.
If I saw that BRONCOS GET QUINN headline, I would have had the same reaction.
OMG! The media can be so cruel sometimes, can’t they?!?! What a misleading headline! I’ve been out of commission today, so I haven’t gone through my RSS Feed subscriptions. So, now I have a warning for when I do!
I couldn’t sleep much either because of the heat! And as a result I have a lingering and massive headache. I’m so glad nothing happy with Brady today because I think my head would have exploded!
After seeing the draft come to a close, I like what the Browns did. They picked solid players to help patch up the holes in the team. Some are complaining about no “big names”, but I don’t care about that. I want team players. And I have absolutely no problem with the team drafting a Center in Round 1. The more talent up front to protect Brady, the better QB he’ll become!
I agree, Suz: Team players are what the Browns need to win/to do well.
More talented players will help Our Brady to become an even better QB.
I am sorry that you & John were having trouble sleeping because of the hot weather. The hot weather here in New Orleans is causing my family and me to have trouble sleeping, too.
I am giving myself permission to exhale.
I think that Brady is safe. The Browns may pull a 2007 Charlie Frye move and send someone far far away, like to a European expansion league (please be Derek), but that was when they had four quarterbacks.
Now they have three. Apparently, Brady and Derek have to showcase their stuff during mini camp and other “get back into shape” camps, but we know Brady has been doing that ALL WINTER long and NO ONE has seen or heard anything about Derek. Maybe he went fishing in Oregon and played golf, but I think that says a lot about a quarterback – the leader of the team.
So with baited breath I await the camps and all of the saga that goes with them. Last year Brady had a great day and
the world was full of marshmallow Peeps and it rained Skittles
; then he had a bad day and
the world was full of old chocolate turning white and it rained those disgusting black jellybeans that stain green if they get wet.
So here’s to Marshmallow Peep OTCs and Strawberry Shortcake spring trainings. So go get em Brady. Cut the hair a bit and smile pretty for the cameras. We’ll be watching… the training too.
LOL! John that’s hilarious! Here’s to Marshmallow Peeps indeed!
Man, now I’m hungry!
I actually read some rumors late Saturday night that DA might be traded on Day 2 of the draft, in order to get more draft picks. I didn’t buy it, even though I wanted it to be true!
So, now the Brady Quinn fanclub can get back to business. I hated being in such limbo for the past month!
I think it’s a good sign that they didn’t trade Brady!!! The Browns can’t just have him as a second string QB.
Our Brady is the Franchise Quarterback for the Browns; no one else is.
