Not So Fast, My Friends!
The Washington Examiner published the original report that Brady was the QB that the Denver Broncos wanted, and that the Browns were working on a 3-team trade, involving the Washington Redskins and the Broncos.
Other media outlets picked up that story and ran with it. ‘Tis the nature of the beast. Seemed most believed the story and just figured the deal fell apart. Well, that’s not necessarily true, if you ask Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini, who refuted the claims that the team was working on a deal to ship Brady to Denver.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer spoke to the team’s spokesperson who, on behalf of Mangini, said the Washington Examiner’s story was “wrong”.
At this time, it is unknown what exactly was “wrong” with the Washington Examiner story. Was it some of the specific details or the entire notion of a trade involving BQ? We may never know. Some, familiar with the newspaper and its writers, question the validity of the original story in the first place.
So really, it’s a matter of who you want to believe. But really, isn’t that how it always is? Just a bunch of he said, she said.
I’ll tell you this much, though. Brady will handle the situation well. Unlike Cutler, don’t expect Brady Quinn to pout, whine, stop returning calls, not show up to workouts, and demand a trade. He will continue to work towards being the best QB he can for the Cleveland Browns. He knows the NFL is a business, and he will conduct his business with class.

Honey, there may not be any fire, but there is a lot of smoke (with some mirrors to boot.)
The only thing I like hot is my quarterback, and I am beginning to formulate strong pre-season opinions about our new coach and GM.
