So You’re Saying There’s A Chance?

A chance we could be rid of this coach and/or GM? Thats the bit of news I’ve been waiting for!

Cleveland Browns owner, Randy Lerner, is aware of the turmoil in the organization and he’s put Romero Crennel and Phil Savage on notice. He gave an interview yesterday and said he would do anything to make sure this is a winning organization and that he’d wait until the end of the season to make any decisions on the matter.

“I’m going to take the issues and the concerns and the criticisms very seriously and think through things and evaluate them and deal with them in January.”

This team is such a mess, that I’m sure announcing any major changes right now would only contribute further to this team’s meltdown, so I agree with Lerner’s decision there. I just hope that he does the right thing and get rid of our sad excuse for a head coach. I’m indifferent on Phil Savage right now. We have a lot of talent, thanks to him, but wait? Isn’t he the one who hired Romeo? Ouch. Bad call, there, buddy.

It does feel like we're in Oz, doesn't it?

    Take note…

“Lerner said he has not made up his mind yet about bringing back Crennel, Savage or both men to head his football operation that has put together a 4-7 season after going 10-6 last year. The Browns are 24-35 since they were hired in the early months of 2005.

“That is at the core of the analysis,” Lerner said of the dropoff. “What happened? How do you go 10-6, play good football, have the NFL generally excited, get six prime-time appearances … how does all that happen and you struggle this way?

“Lerner expressed frustation that the team has failed under the present regime, and before, to establish an identity. He also indicated he was not happy that his football operation has failed to choose a quarterback around which to build the team.

Asked if he has expressed that sentiment to Savage, he said, “I’ve done that.”

Lerner said he was “very” concerned with credibility issues that arose from the Kellen Winslow suspension incident and the recent incident in which Savage used a profane word in an email to an angry fan.

He admitted there’s “an issue there, yeah,” with the organization’s ability to represent itself to the public.”

The coffin is all but nailed shut…

Added a comic about Romeo and Phil. I hate inserting above your posts, so use it if you want.
