A Brady Quinn comic

by flyte44

I made a comic about Brady Quinn on the sidelines. I, and a few other Brady Bunch members, enjoy writing captions to pictures on the message board. Here’s my latest installment of a comic I call, “It’s a Derek Life.” This is episode 5, entitled. “What Brady REALLY does on the sidelines.” It’s all in good fun to pass the time away until he gets his chance. (Seriously, we are only asking for a starting chance!)

*Clicking on comic brings up the full-sized version.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRADY!

Here's hoping you get your heart's desire! Some playing time!

All of us at www.brady-quinn.org and www.bradysbunch.org want to wish Brady Quinn a Happy 24th Birthday!

What? You Mean We Won?

GTFO!! The Browns held off the Jacksonville Jaguars by a final score of 23-17.

And don’t lie! I wasn’t the only one holding my breath when Garrard tossed his 2nd to last TD attempt. Matt Jones sooooo shoulda pulled that thing down! And if he had, we would have lost.

Some thoughts:

1. Should we all send Jones a “Thank You” card?
2. There was some questionable playcalling from Romeo & co., but that’s to be expected.
3. It’d be nice if we didn’t have to settle for so many freakin’ field goals.
4. We win yet another game without K2? Ya don’t say!
5. Jamal Lewis is our rock. That is all.

I don’t really have that much else to say about this game. Much-needed win; especially on the road.

Today’s matchup: Browns (2-4) vs. Jaguars (3-3)

by flyte44

Well I am not sure at all what to expect from this game. And really, that is sad because it shows how unpredictable and unrefined the Browns are this season. Awesome game against the Giants, six days later, not so good with the Redskins.

I am no football expert, there are others who fit that bill much better, but looking at the predictions this morning I see a majority of papers siding with the Browns. That’s good right? Well, no.

Checking out the Browns official website, the current poll asks: What’s your prediction for Sunday’s Browns-Jaguars game? The options:

Browns get their groove back, win big,
Another thriller in Jacksonville goes to the Browns,
The Jags pull out another close, hard-fought victory, OR
Jones-Drew gets loose; the home team rolls

I always like to pick what I think the majority of Browns fans would pick, so I chose the third one, the Jags pull out another close, hard-fought victory, because to me that says the Browns are trying, but with current turbulence they just couldn’t do it… again.

I was wrong. The majority of people answering the poll (4,188 when this was written) said that the Jags will be victorious. There is something definitely wrong when a teams’ own fans turn.

There is no need to speculate as to why. There is more drama this year with the Browns then there is this election. Staph infections, questionable coaching and managerial actions, politics in the locker room, suspensions without pay THEN with pay, QB controversies, possible trades, poor playing with fingers pointing everywhere, and I am being kind. (Don’t get used to it.) I can consider myself one of those unsatisifed fans.

I am frustrated. I make no bones about it I am a Brady Quinn fan first and foremost, but I also don’t want the bench Brady is sitting on to crack and crumble beneath him before someone gets the epiphany to send him in.

Come on Brownies, I may not know EXACTLY what I want, but I know I don’t want people to laugh and say my team sucks when I walk past wearing my Browns hat and sweatshirt. I want them to act the same way they did last year – with pride and admiration. Where is that?

Something Else to Think About

Many fans and media members think firing a coach mid-season is a big faux pas. But that’s old school. Nowadays, it’s becoming quite normal.

First, the St. Louis Rams bucked the trend and dropped their head coach. Then the Raiders fired Lane Kiffin. And now the 49ers have followed suit after their own team’s lackluster performance this season.

I’m not sayin’ anything. I’m just sayin’.

Browns Comeback Falls Short Against Redskins

Oh no! We suck again!

Oh no! We suck again!

BROWNS: 11 REDSKINS: 14

Welp, some things never change, do they? I really thought, after destroying the New York Giants, that this team had finally gotten their groove back. Boy, was I wrong.

I damn near fell asleep during the first half of the game. Never have I seen so much punting and so little offense. Zzzzzz.

I’m no football coach — and apparently, neither is Romeo — but I feel like if a team goes through 2 quarters looking as flat as we did, that you come out in the second half and try something, or someone, else. Especially if you aren’t losing. The game was 0-0 at halftime. That’s the perfect time to insert Brady into the lineup, IMO. But we all know that’s not going to happen as long as Romeo is the head coach. DA can never do enough wrong to be pulled from a game. That’s crystal clear to Cleveland Browns fans.

So we pretty much sucked for most of this game. God bless Jamal Lewis. He’s the only one who did his part today. We deserved to lose that game.

Here are some questions to think about:

1. Does anyone else think clock management needs to be worked on?
2. Why does DA keep getting in fights with his teammates on/off the field?
3. Is Braylon not drinking enough 5 Hour Energy to hold onto the football when it’s thrown his way?
4. 0-0 at halftime. Was this not the most boring game ever?
5. Is this team actually better without Kellen Winslow Jr.?

My trip to see the BROWNS slaughter the GIANTS

by flyte44

I sit perplexed, puzzled on how to begin;
About my adventures in traveling to meet Brady Quinn.

Should I write an article, a story? Oh here it goes,
My attempt to convey the day in prose.

It may not be pretty, and won’t put any poet to shame,
But at least I can tell you about the NFL game.

It starts the day before, with a disaster involving my vision,
My glasses snapped in half leaving me with an awful decision.

Do I drive 600 miles with a scratched five-year-old pair of glasses?
Or do I drive 10 miles per hour – as slow as molasses?

“Hell no!” I said looking like Velma from Scooby-Doo.
“I will not be denied my Brady. No thank-you!”

Browns Win Upset Special in Cleveland 35-14

I’m not going to lie. I did not see this coming…at all! The Browns handled the reigning Super Bowl Champs by a final score of 35-14.

Someone must have put out an APB on the 2007 Brownies. And after an exhaustive search, they were found!

DA passed very well and wasn’t playing scared. Braylon caught the ball. Jamal Lewis ran through the Giants defense like a man possessed. The team has zero turnovers. The defense was flying all over the place. This is the team everyone expected to see this season!

Can we call a do-over on those first 3 games? No, seriously.

Can’t wait to hear John’s (flyte44) account of the game! Hopefully he’ll make his own post with stories and pics!

MNF: Browns vs. Giants

I don’t know what to say. I have a sinking feeling in my stomach about this game. These are the Super Bowl Champs. They easily beat us in the preseason and they’re undefeated in the regular season.

The Browns may have won their last game (vs. the Bengals), but I see it more as the Bengals lost that game by not having their starting QB in the game. They are still winless and without Carson Palmer. Makes a difference. So we really have nothing to brag about there, and contrary to what Derek Anderson or anyone else on the team says, I do not believe this team has their swagger back.

The throwing targets for DA are still iffy. No one knows if Braylon will actually catch a ball these days. Donte Stallworth should be set to make his regular season debut, but will probably be very rusty. Kellen Winslow is likely out after being hospitalized for several days over the weekend. If the Browns can’t get a running game going, it won’t matter who is behind center taking snaps.

Let’s hope things don’t get too ugly up in Cleveland tonight! The Giants are so much better than the Browns that it’s not even funny. Our own flyte44 is taking in the game from a phatty front row seat. Here’s to hoping the team does well and he doesn’t leave disappointed like the last Browns game he attended!

Brady Campaigns for McCain

BQ and JT gettin' their politics on

BQ and JT gettin' their politics on

Earlier this year, Brady filmed a PSA that stressed the importance of registering to vote, and then getting out and making your voice heard on election day.

He’s taken his involvement in politicsto the next level as he’s introduced the Republican ticket at a rally in Strongsville, OH Wednesday.

Brady, dressed to the nines in a suit, was joined by teammate Joe Thomas at the rally.

All political affiliations aside, we should all be registered and ready to vote next month. It’s very important!

In other news, Brady did quite a bit of travelling during the Browns bye week. He made a surprise appearance at his sister’s soccer game at the University of Virginia. The next night, he was back in the Greater Columbus area, and on the sidelines, as his former high school team won to remain undefeated this season.
