Browns Fall 34-37 to Super Bowl Champs

I didn’t get to see the game because I was out watching my Buckeyes practice. However, I DVR’d it and got a couple of updates from the always reliable John telling me how well Brady was playing. Always good to hear.

From various game recaps, it look like the 1st teamers played horribly during their drives, digging themselves a sizeable hole with a 3-30 deficit. The team also didn’t help itself with all the penalties.

Derek Anderson left the game with a possible concussion, and Brady came in to lead the team back. You never wish injury upon anyone, so I genuinely hope DA is ok. My head hurts just thinking about a concussion. Regardless, this situation could prove to be just what Brady needs to ’strut his stuff’. We shall see.

By the time Brady was relieved by Ken Dorsey, he had gone 7 for 12, accumulating 124 yards and 1 TD.

Lastly, what’s with those uniform bottoms?

Please excuse my overzealousness when it comes to Brady, but I think this was just what the press, public, officials, general managers, coaches, owners, nay-sayers, disbelievers, cynics, fans, and skeptics needed:

    A DOSE OF VITAMIN B!

Yeah the game really REALLY sucked and I can only assume those pants were just cutting off much needed circulation. I listened to the commentators and they gave me a lot of much needed hope. Highlights:

    • They interviewed Brady prior to the game (Real men wear pink) where Brady answered the question if he would remain a Brown. He said and i quote! “I know I am here for a reason. I have faith in God that I am a Brown for a reason and things will work out.” WHEW. That means a lot to me because I can’t give 100% to the Browns until Brady is a starter, and if he believes it is God’s plan - well then you know he is sticking around.

    • They showed some of the 2007 draft where Brady agonizingly waited and waited to be drafted. The “blonde” was there and I quote the commentators who said they know where Brady is now, “… we don’t know what happened to the people who accompanied him.” Question really is do we care?

    • This was the most Brady played since his NOTRE DAME career!

    • Brady Quinn very coachable. They showed a lot of how Brady is taking the knowledge he has learned and is applying it to improve his performance, i.e. gripping the ball.

    • All agreed (as well as some very good QBs now) that waiting a year [or two!] makes you an awesome quarterback as you patiently learn all the ropes. This from Romo, Leinart, and Aaron Rodgers.

    • Derek’s concussion, although not terrible, is still significant and relevant because you now look at Brady and say, “…you ask yourself is he auditioning for something greater right now tonight then the standard role he has accepted as the backup quarterback? I mean I think he planned on being the backup all year… so maybe Brady is now being thought of as starter - quicker.”

    • The “dink - dunking” from last week will not be brought up again.

    • While showing the picture of baby Brady in a Bernie Kosar uniform they repeated how much Brady always wanted to be a Brown and how happy he was because he WANTS to play for the Cleveland Browns and wants to play for them NOW.

    • Brady has played the waiting game in true gentlemanly fashion just doing the very best he can. I cannot say biding his time, because that makes me envision a quietly evil man twirling his moustache - Brady is completely the opposite of that and puts his TEAM first - not selfishness.

    • You see more Brady endorsements than Anderson’s because of the hometown connection, draft saga, the Notre Dame background, a lot of Catholic schools in the city of Cleveland - so it is a natural thing [Brady's popularity] and Brady is handling this the right way [Derek starting; he's not]- all going back to the role model thing.

    • Finally,… all agree. The PANTS SUCK as much as the game!

WOW! This was thorough! Love it!

Did the pre-game interview air during the pre-show on ESPN that started at 7PM?

Great commentary, John! :)I know that Brady is the starting QB for the Browns; that is definitely part of God’s plan. :D

That mini interview was probably taken before the game, but aired during the game around half time.

Got to love a man who can wear pink and pull it off. Plenty of pictures of the game (official and screen caps I did “live”) so enjoy them!
