Game Day, Woot!

The Browns will host the NY Jets tonight at Cleveland Browns Stadium for their 2008 preseason opener. And for once, the Brownies won’t be the ones with the big Quarterback controversy. The Jets just finalized a deal that brings them a new and future Hall of Fame QB, Brett Favre. To make room, Chad Pennington will either be released or traded, or so that’s what ESPN is reporting on SportsCenter as I type this. So who will the Browns defense face during the game? Most likely Kellen Clemens.

If you will be watching the game on TV, as I will, prepare yourself for nothing but nonstop Favre talk. You should be used to it as it’s been all anyone can talk about lately.

Brady seems to have grown tired of the media asking him about the QB situation. Probably not as tired as we are reading about it. Brady’s a team player and knows his role. That doesn’t mean he’s stopped coveting the starting QB role.

“I wish it were different, but at this point in time, what the coaches and what the organization wants, that’s where they’re pushing it. I wish there would be more competition. Everyone wishes that were the case, but that’s not reality.”

But don’t think Brady is pouting!

God put me here for a reason. There is no reason to be upset. I’ve talked to too many quarterbacks who are doing well now who said if they could go back and do it again, they would have continued to work as if they were the starter and not gotten frustrated.”

That’s ok. Take it all out on the Jets tomorrow.

I hope BQ gets at least one series with the starters. I mean, come on! How else are you going to know how he does against top competition? The preseason in the time to work it all out.

Kickoff is at 7:30 PM.
