So Which Is It?

During last year’s preseason, when Brady put up some great stats, naysayers and critics brushed it off because he wasn’t playing against the starting units. Ok, fine.

So why is it that now, during camp, when he’s not as consistent, is no one mentioning the fact that he’s not playing with the starters?

Can’t have it both ways. It seems people bring up his competition and players he’s throwing to all the time just to discount when he plays well. When he doesn’t do as well, there’s no mention of it. He just must not be that good.

I’m a conspiracy theorist, and I think it’s not just Brady that needs to be consistent. Critics, media, COACHES, and fans alike need to keep it real. If Brady was throwing to the likes of Braylon Edwards, K2, and Donté Stallworth, I doubt he’d have as many picks as he’s had. Hell, I could suit up for the Browns and throw to Braylon and look impressive. And I’m a girl. Braylon is that good.

Why this post? Because of this story and many others like it.

We fans know that he’s going to brush. that. dirt off his shoulder and keep trying to improve. I just felt I needed to point out something that a lot of others are downplaying in attempt to make BQ look bad. Yes, he has things he needs to work on. What QB doesn’t? Consistency is the goal. I just ask that people consider all the facts before passing judgement and making bold statements about Brady’s skills.

Stop the madness, people. Just. Stop.

And to make this post a little more news-worthy, Day 8 Coverage can be found here, from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. I like the bulleted points format. It’s great for those of us with short attention spans.

Don’t you all wish you had a blog like this where you could openly rant? Ah, life is good!

More Training Camp Coverage

I realized that if I tried to do a post every day, I’d likely drive myself crazy. I need to keep my sanity so I can go crazy during the season, right? Right.

So, to sum up the past few days of camps:

  • Apparently Brady had a rough day Friday and threw some interceptions. You all know that no QB has ever thrown picks at a training camp before! EVER!
  • Brady brushed off that day’s performance, bounced back and hasn’t thrown an INT since
  • Sounds like the fans are doing a good job at keeping the players entertained during practice downtime
  • Even though he’s been a hot commodity since he was drafted, Brady is still getting used to his rockstar status
  • Training Camp Pictures: Day 2, Day 3, Day 4
  • Video report from Training Camp Day 6 (today) here, courtesy of the Cleveland Plain Dealer
  • Video interview immediately following today’s practice. From: ClevelandBrowns.com

Brady Looks Ahead to Training Camp

    And he aint alone!

This post contains a little bit of press leading up to Wednesday’s kickoff of the Cleveland Browns 2008 Training Camp. Brady attended The Granted Wish Foundation’s Kick-Off Event in Canton tonight and revealed that he is in a great place, as opposed to last year, heading into training camp.

Gone are all the distractions that come with being a rookie. These included overall adjustments, contract disputes, and learning a new system.

This year, Brady can focus on connecting with his teammates and improving his game; something he works tirelessly towards. The sucess of the 2007 season has set the bar high, which Brady thinks is a good thing. The team will use that to continue to push itself to improve further. The Cleveland Browns want to play in the post-season this year!

BTW, I totally forgot to add the ESPY pictures to the gallery until now. Why? Because I’m a tool. Click here.

Here is a picture of Brady and his +1 on the red carpet. Teammates Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr. also made appearances on the red carpet.

The ESPY’s air Sunday at 9PM(ET) pm ESPN.

Brady Appearance in Canton Next Weekend

Brady will be attending a charity event at the Pro Football Hall of Fame on July 19th.

He will be present at the Granted Wish Foundation’s annual tailgate fundraiser. Here’s what you can expect at the event, courtesy of the Canton Rep:

The event includes gourmet tailgate food stations, a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and a football toss contest for a chance to win a new car from Waikem Motors.

The event is 7 to 10 p.m., with Quinn scheduled to arrive at 8. Tickets are $95, which includes a personally signed autograph from Quinn. VIP tickets, which include a photo with Quinn, are $900.

    I’m sorry, what? $900?!?!

    Training Camp 2008

    It’s cooommmming!

I had been waiting for the Browns to update their training camp section on ClevelandBrowns.com and they finally did so while I was out of town in Omaha last week. (O/T: No offense to anyone from there, but if you don’t absolutely have to go to Omaha, don’t. Sorriest “downtown” I’ve ever seen in my life).

So yay for a Browns fix from July 23 – August 16. You can hit up these sessions, free of charge, at the team practice facility in Berea. I have another brand new & shiny telephoto lens that would be oh-so-perfect for shooting a practice, but the chances of my making it up to Berea are slim to none.

I’m excited for the avalanche of news, pictures, and hype that training camp will bring, provided it’s not a rehash of what we’ve been reading for the year to date. Y’all know what I mean.

So, check it all out at www.clevelandbrowns.com/trainingcamp.

    Anyone making plans to go?
