Brady Quinn Wants You To Vote!

That is, if you’re old enough ;)

Brady has teamed up with the nonprofit youth voting initiative, Declare Yourself and fellow NFL players Shaun Alexander, Marc Bulger, and Michael Huff to get word out to fans to vote.

Each of the players has filmed a PSA with the tagline “Be a Player. Vote.” that will air during FOX’s pre-Super Bowl coverage on Sunday.

Here is a statement from Brady on the importance of voting:

“Someone who is not registered to vote and has no desire to vote obviously is missing out on the one thing that makes this country great. Everyone has a say, and it may seem small and insignificant, but at the same time when the voices are all put together, they’re heard.”

Pictures: Hawaiian Tropic Zone Grand Opening

Over the weekend, Mr. Quinn took a trip to Las Vegas with some of his friends. While there, he attended the Grand Opening of the Hawaiian Tropic Zone. Others at the event were Carmen Electra, Stacy Keibler, Kevin Dillon, Kevin Connolly, Lauren Conrad, Mario Lopez, Reggie Bush, and more.

I just added pics to the gallery. You can see them here.

Brady Gets Invite to Super Bowl Party in Arizona

Brady is headed to Arizona for the Super Bowl. Of course, he won’t be playing in the game. Instead, he’ll be taking in the environment as evidenced by his invitation to some of the celebrity parties being thrown as part of Super Bowl Week.

The SKYE Restaurant in Peoria, AZ, has released a list of celebrities and personalities scheduled to attend its “Party Before the Big Game” on Saturday, and Brady is included.

Other celebs/atheletes who scored an invite include Nick Lachey & Vanessa Minnillo, Venus & Serena Williams, Stacy Keibler, Danica Patrick, Matt Leinart, and Vince Young.

You know what this means, don’t you? Yup. Pictures!

Browns Ticket Prices Increase for 2008 Season

If you’re looking to attend any Browns games next season, it’s going to cost you a little more than it has in the past.

Prices have gone up for as much as 80% of the seats in Cleveland Browns Stadium. In addition, Dawg Pound seats will be $10 more expensive.

You can reserve your seats for the 2008 season right now by calling 440-824-3434 or visiting the team’s official website and filling out a form.

See the stadium’s seating availability chart here. Check this out to see how the Cleveland Plain Dealer breaks down the ticket increases.

See what happens when a team has a successful season? ;)

Browns Stay the Course, Begin Derek Anderson Contract Talks

After Browns GM Phil Savage proclaimed Derek Anderson the 2008 starter and vowed to keep the current QB roster intact, it was time to back up that talk. Where NFL Quarterbacks are concerned, stability is a good thing.

DA is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of February, so the Browns need to get him to sign a new contract before then.

The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that negotiations have begun and the first offer is a 3 year contract.

Seeing as how this is a blog, it is almost my duty to stir the pot a little. So here goes: Would a longterm-ish contract for DA then translate to the Browns shopping Brady in the off-season? Would the length of DA’s contract then mean Brady would need to wait that many more years to become the Browns “Quarterback of the future”?

So many questions, so few answers.

Video: Brady Quinn 2007 Highlights

I went through all my video from this season and put together a highlight reel of Brady’s time, on the field, for his rookie season. It should not be surprising that the majority of the plays showcased are from the preseason. I think I got all of his completions in it, as well as some alternative angles. Enjoy!

No 2008 QB Controversy?

Phil Savage just loves stirring the pot. Or at least that’s what I feel like he’s doing. [LINK]

With all the question marks leading into the off-season concerning the quarterback position, Savage decided to make a bold statement: Derek Anderson is the 2008 starting quarterback.

I understand that we are all pleased with DA’s performance this year, after taking over the starting position from Charlie Frye, but to proclaim that he is the starter before seeing what transpires during the team’s camp (remember, Brady missed a significant portion this season with this holdout) seems a tad premature. Many writers still speculate that Brady may have won the starting position had he attended the full camp.

So with one season under his belt (primarily on the sidelines) to feel out the speed of the game and grasp the playbook, is Savage suggesting that there is still no way Brady can compete with Derek this spring/summer and win the starter job? Shouldn’t all QBs on the roster be given the chance to compete for that job? And if so, what happened to all that “quarterback of the future” talk, Phil?

The good part of Savage’s comments to the media was his insistence that both Brady and Derek are essentially “off the market” in terms of trade scenarios. That’s good news! After signing Ken Dorsey to a contract extension, it makes sense to keep these 3 as the Cleveland Browns Quarterbacks and continue to build and grow with them.

EXTRA POINTS:
Congratulations to Joe Thomas for being added to the Pro Bowl roster!

Brady in Cleveland Magazine

bqtc10 alerted us and provided us with scans to a new article in Cleveland Magazine featuring Cleveland Browns 1st round rookies Brady and Joe Thomas.

You can read the online version of the article here, but beware that clevelandmagazine.com has been having some DNS issues and may or may not load at any given moment.

Cleveland Browns first-round draft picks and buddies Brady Quinn and Joe Thomas talk to us about being roommates, losing locks and bringing a championship to Cleveland.

So big thanks, bqtc10!

Brady Quinn All Over TV Today

But it’s not what you think!

The US Army All-American Bowl is currently airing on NBC. And as you may or may not know, Brady was a standout performer in the 2003 edition of the game which spotlights the country’s top high school recruits. To see a special rewind video from his game, check out this video from Rivals.com.

In any case, during today’s telecast, Brady has been all over the commercials; specifically his EAS and Subway spots.

So even though we won’t get to see him on the field for a while, I thought I’d report that he is still turning up on the tube.

Message Board?

So what do we think? Should I create one for the site?

Things will be probably be pretty slow for the next few months, until the minicamps, spring practices, and OTAs get going again. So I thought it might be a better way for all of us to keep up.

Yes? No? Maybe so?
