Brady Quinn Learns Valuable NFL Lesson
With yesterday’s trade of Charlie Frye to Seattle, Browns rookie QB Brady Quinn learned that, in the NFL, things can change in a blink of an eye. And not just on the field, but off of it as well.
Frye’s departure bumped Brady up to the #2 quarterback slot in the depth chart, a scenario he expressed his excitement about to the media today. “It’s exciting, but at the same time you realize your role is a little bit heightened and you’re one play away if anything was ever to happen. You just have to make sure you’re always ready.”
On the sidelines during the Steelers game Sunday, Brady made the most of his time. He observed the game and noted its fast pace as he continues to transition from NCAA to NFL play. “You realize the decisions you make have to be quick,” he said earlier today. “You have to be very precise with everything you do not only athletically but mentally.”
So when will Brady Quinn make his regular season debut? It could be as early as this Sunday against the Bengals. But naturally that is heavily dependent on how the game is going for the Browns. If new starter Derek Anderson proves to be ineffective (like Charlie Frye), Brady could get his chance sooner, rather than later.
